I will be joining the Philosophical Faculty at the University of Hradec Králové (FF UHK), Czechia, as a visiting scholar for the winter semester (2024/2025). Here I will be teaching an introductory course on Anthrozoology/Human-Animal Studies. However, I am looking for opportunities to continue my research, and would be happy to connect with researchers and other stakeholders interested in potential collaborative projects.

I am seeking employment opportunities, hosts, or collaborations (ideally in Germany, but would consider other arrangements within Europe). I have identified several funding sources and drafted grant proposals to secure third party funding and would be happy to share these with potential institutional sponsors. My interests include more-than-human cultures, urban animals, domestication, multispecies families, grief-work, and animals in tourism, with a focus on cats. I work independently, as part of a team, or as a team leader, and have a strong publication record and previous successes in securing funding. I am keen to continue my research interests, ideally within the context of a university where I can contribute to teaching and/or supervision of project students.
Please get in touch (tinehill@gmail.com) if you would be willing to discuss ideas and possibilities further. You can read more about my current academic interests and projects here: https://academiccatlady.com/projects/

I also have 26 peer-reviewed manuscripts related to my research into plant developmental biology and was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship in 2016. Furthermore, I have been involved in preparing successful grant applications for funding by the USDA and NSF (US), BBSRC (UK), and the DFG (DE). I have a long-standing record of outreach and engaging with different groups and mentoring students.
I have expertise in qualitative research methods, namely thematic discourse analysis, narrative analysis, content analysis, and multispecies ethnography. These methodologies are central to my current projects and proposed research. However, I also have training in quantitative methods, a bioscience background, and have worked on several multi- and cross-disciplinary projects.
